Vivarium Equipment
Vivarium equipment is essential for maintaining the right living conditions in a vivarium and ensuring the health and wellbeing of the animals kept in it. The basics include heating elements – heat rocks, heat mats, heat cables or ceramic heat emitters – which create the temperature zones needed for thermoregulation. UVB lighting is also essential, supporting calcium metabolism and vitamin D₃ synthesis, along with timers for automatically controlling the day/night cycle. For humidity-loving species, misters, sprayers or humidifiers are used to maintain stable air humidity. Thermometers and hygrometers are another important part of the kit, helping you monitor conditions in different parts of the vivarium. The right equipment recreates the animal’s natural environment and is key to its long-term health.
