ALAVIS Chlorhexidine Shampoo 250ml

ALAVIS Chlorhexidine Shampoo is a shampoo for the external care of the coat and skin of dogs, cats, ferrets and horses, enriched with a chlorhexidine component that helps reduce the occurrence of undesirable microorganisms, and with Aloe vera, which has an anti-inflammatory effect, aids faster healing of injuries and thus supports the effect of the shampoo.

We recommend it :

• for the treatment of superficial and deep skin inflammations (of yeast or bacterial origin, e.g. hot spot, inflammation of skin folds)
• as maintenance care of the skin and coat after the recovery of dermatological patients, patients with chronic skin inflammations or with allergic skin disease
• to prevent the development of secondary skin infections in patients infested with ectoparasites (with demodicosis, mange, flea infestation, cheyletiellosis, etc.)
• for cleaning physically or chemically irritated skin (e.g. around the anus during diarrhoea, chafed skin folds, when soiled with excrement or contaminated water)
• to reduce itching (pruritus) of various aetiology

Active substances: Chlorhexidine digluconate 1% and Aloe vera 1%.

• Chlorhexidine is, thanks to its antiseptic properties, a widely used substance in both human and veterinary medicine. Its mechanism of action consists in disrupting the cell membrane of pathogens. Its use in the form of a shampoo thus combines a mechanical (washing-off) and an antiseptic effect.
• Aloe vera has been used for thousands of years in folk medicine and its use has spread all over the world. Aloe gel supports healing and is applied externally, especially to burns, minor injuries and abrasions. When applied, it forms a moisturising film on the surface of the wound, which has an anti-inflammatory effect, supports the growth of fibroblasts and the renewal of collagen, accelerates granulation, improves the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the tissue, and the blood supply is restored more quickly. Aloe vera reduces the amount of dead tissue and stimulates cell regeneration. Aloe vera contains carbohydrates, especially pectins, hemicellulose, glucomannans, acemannans and mannose derivatives. Also present are amino acids, lipids, sterols, tannins, enzymes, vitamins, minerals and salicylic acid. The healing effect is attributed to the polysaccharides it contains, especially acemannans.
