Complaints and warranty claims

Did your goods arrive damaged, stop working, or does the food not look the way it should? Get in touch with us. We will handle your claim quickly, fairly and in accordance with the law — you are in good hands with us.

By law 2 years to make a claim, settled within 30 days You can notify a defect within 2 years of receipt. We will inform you of the outcome within 30 days at the latest, usually much sooner.
How it works

Claims in three steps

1

Get in touch with us

Email obchod@zvireci-potreby.cz or call +420 510 510 852. State your order number, a description of the defect and, if possible, photographs. For food and treats, please also include the batch number and use-by date from the packaging. We resolve many claims straight away, without the goods having to be sent back.

2

Hand over the goods to us

If the goods need to be assessed, send them to the following address:

Profi Pet s.r.o.
Znojemská 1155
691 23 Pohořelice

Enclose a description of the defect, a copy of the proof of purchase and, if you wish, a completed claim form (PDF) — it is not compulsory. Send the goods as an ordinary parcel, not cash on delivery. You can also make a claim in person at our shop in Brno.

3

We settle it within 30 days

Once we receive your claim, we will send you written confirmation (stating when you made the claim, what it concerns and what remedy you are requesting). You will receive the outcome within 30 days at the latest: repaired or new goods, a discount, or a refund. We will reimburse the postage for a justified claim.

Your rights

What can you request?

At your choice, either a repair or the delivery of new goods free of defects. If we fail to remedy the defect properly or within a reasonable time, if the defect recurs, or if it constitutes a material breach of contract, you are entitled to a reasonable discount or to withdraw from the contract and receive a refund. You cannot withdraw from the contract on account of a minor defect alone.

Exceptions

What is not covered by a claim?

Normal wear and tear, defects caused by improper use, maintenance or storage (for food, e.g. damp, heat or packaging left open for a long time), a defect for which a lower price was agreed, and goods past the use-by date shown on the packaging.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Food, tinned food and treats

A defect can be notified up to the use-by date on the packaging. Please do not throw the suspect food away yet — a photograph of the packaging showing the batch number and use-by date will help us, and we may ask you to send the goods to us.

Damaged parcel

Inspect the parcel on receipt and record any visible damage with the carrier or photograph it. This makes the claim easier to handle, but your right to make a claim does not lapse even if you only discover the damage at home.

Business purchases (company ID)

The procedure is the same. However, consumer time limits and presumptions do not apply to business customers — the defect must be notified without undue delay after it could have been discovered.

Questions and answers

Common questions about claims

Who pays the postage for sending in a claim?

You send the goods to us at your own expense. If we accept the claim, we will reimburse your reasonably incurred costs (in particular postage) — simply send us the receipt and your account number. Please request reimbursement no later than one month after the expiry of the period for notifying the defect.

Do I need the original packaging or receipt?

The original packaging is not required, but please pack the goods so that they are not damaged in transit. To prove your purchase, your order number, the invoice from your email or a bank statement is sufficient.

Do I have to fill in the claim form?

No. The claim form (PDF) is only an aid to make sure nothing is missing. It is enough to describe the defect clearly in an email or on a note in the parcel and to state your order number and contact details.

What if you do not settle the claim within 30 days?

The 30-day period, including remedying the defect, is binding on us (unless we agree on a longer one). If we fail to meet it, you may withdraw from the contract and request a refund, or request a reasonable discount.

Can I make a claim in person at the shop?

Yes. We accept claims for goods from both the e-shop and the shop at our shop in OC Kalinka, Dlouhá 577/3, Brno-Bohunice, every day from 9:30 to 18:00. Bring your proof of purchase or order number with you.

What if I disagree with how the claim was settled?

Please write to us first; we resolve most situations by agreement. A consumer may also contact the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (ČOI) as the body for the out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes: adr.coi.cz, Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Praha 2. A petition may be filed within 1 year of first asserting the right with us.
