HYCLO95 - what is it and how does it work?

Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is a weak acid but a powerful oxidising agent. It can only exist in an aqueous state, without gaseous derivatives or their presence. HOCl works by breaking down and destroying the daughter strands (RNA/DNA) of microorganisms. This mechanism ensures that, unlike with antibiotics, no micro-resistance can develop.

What is hypochlorous acid?

Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is a naturally occurring substance formed by dissolving chlorine in water. Often referred to as hypo, HOCl is an endogenous oxidising agent present in all mammals. It is highly effective against a wide range of microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi and viruses.
