Arcadia Basking Infra Red 50W – an infrared heat bulb for reptiles that provides the optimal temperature even at night, without disrupting the animal's natural light cycle.
As cold-blooded animals, reptiles need external heat sources. Arcadia infrared heat bulbs offer many advantages and benefits for animals kept in captivity.
Depending on the wattage and distance, it is easy to create a spot where the temperature reaches 26–75°C. This means you can choose the ideal heat bulb for most species of reptile. Infrared light is invisible to reptiles, so the vivarium can be heated to the required temperature even at night without disrupting the animal’s natural light cycle.
We recommend using these heat bulbs together with quality thermostats that precisely control the temperature.
Arcadia Solar Basking Infrared bulbs do not provide UVB; they are intended only for creating local basking spots. Always bear in mind that most reptile species need a quality source of UVB radiation – bulbs or fluorescent tubes.
It is advisable to combine these infrared bulbs with the Arcadia Basking Solar Flood and Spot daytime heat bulbs.
TIP: point the bulb at a flat stone in the vivarium or a thick branch. They will absorb the heat given off by the bulb and then release it back for a while even after the bulb has been switched off.
