Avoca – Blood-Stop Stick
A stick for quickly stopping minor bleeding
AVOCA Caustic Pencil 95% Silver Nitrate stick for quickly stopping minor bleeding (e.g. when claws are trimmed too short, when beaks are injured, or on a wound after dewclaw removal in puppies).
Case size 7 cm.
Use: Cauterisation of minor bleeding based on a caustic effect on the tissue.
Composition: Silver nitrate (95%) and potassium nitrate (5%).
One applicator contains 300 mg of a mixture of silver and potassium nitrate.
Dosage and method of use: Moisten the tip of the stick in clean water and apply carefully to the treated area. Do not use NaCl solution after moistening! Careless handling can easily break off the application tip. The effect of silver nitrate is directly proportional to the duration of contact. A larger amount of water or a short contact time reduces the product's effect. The effect on the tissue can be stopped by rinsing with a weak solution of table salt (1%).
Warning: This product must be used with caution and only by a qualified person.
Do not apply near the eyes, mouth or other sensitive areas.
