It is a purely natural product obtained from the fruit of organically grown coconut palms (Cocos nucifera) by cold pressing. It does not undergo the process of refining, bleaching, hardening and deodorising. It is rich in medium-chain fatty acids such as lauric acid (acidum lauricum, dodecanoic acid), caprylic acid (acidum caprylicum, octanoic acid) and capric acid (acidum caprinicum, decanoic acid). These are a quickly usable source of energy and in no way create fat reserves in the body leading to obesity. The above-mentioned fatty acids are of exceptional importance and have a markedly positive effect on metabolism, above all in the skin.
A beneficial side effect of applying Canina Coconut Oil is the prophylaxis and adjuvant therapy of endoparasitoses (the infestation of dogs and cats by internal parasites, roundworms and tapeworms).
In some cases Canina Coconut Oil can also be used externally, e.g. to repel (repel) exoparasites (external parasites), fleas, lice, biting lice, spider mites, ticks, cheyletiella (so-called walking dandruff mites), mange including ear mange (otodectic mange) and demodicosis (so-called red mange). Lauric acid is particularly active in this respect; in addition to raising the level of metabolism, it also provides the skin with appropriate hydration, thereby preventing the formation of dandruff, and the coat too. It makes it shiny and easy to maintain by combing or brushing. In long-haired breeds it thus indirectly prevents its matting.
