- Plastic: A lightweight and affordable material, though less durable and prone to scratching. Suitable for puppies or as a travel bowl. Plastic bowls should be made from good-quality, non-toxic plastic.
- Ceramic: Heavy, stable bowls suitable for dogs that tend to tip bowls over. Ceramic bowls look stylish and are easy to clean, but are more fragile and can break.
- Silicone: Used mainly for travel bowls, as it's lightweight, foldable and durable. Silicone is also safe and easy to wash.
