Claw and Paw Care for Dogs
Pay close attention to your dog's paws in winter, when pavements are heavily gritted with salt. You can see on your shoes how salt damages material – for your dog it's worse. Their skin is living tissue, and it can become very dry and sore. The way to protect it is by moisturising with special creams, which you'll find in our shop.
Salt isn't the only winter problem that can trouble your dog. In long-haired breeds especially, issues in this area can be caused by ice building up between the pads – trimming the fur there and checking their paws after every walk will help ease this problem.
Don't forget about paw care in summer either – a long walk on hot pavement can cause burns.
