If a cat feels safe in its environment, it rubs its head against furniture, the corners of walls or the edges of curtains and leaves behind substances called „facial pheromones“. These pheromones give it a feeling of contentment and comfort without any stress. If changes occur in the environment in which the cat lives (e.g. a visit to the vet, a return from hospital, moving house, a change of furniture, strangers) or if the cat is frightened, a state of unease and fear may develop. This state is accompanied by changes in behaviour such as: urine marking, scratching, loss of appetite, refusing games and activities. In these cases, the Feliway diffuser can be safely used to restore the cat's natural balance. The Feliway diffuser mimics the feline facial pheromone, which induces a state of safety and well-being.

Fear can manifest as:

marking
scratching
loss of interest in contact and interaction with people, cats, …
loss of appetite
loss of interest in games

Possible situations:

moving house, a new home
a visit to the vet, a return from hospital
overpopulation – many cats in one household
adoption (a new owner)
a change of furniture
a new family member (a person or animal)
a holiday stay

How to choose between Feliway products:

Marking – it is better to use the Feliway diffuser in combination with Feliway spray

Scratching – it is recommended to use Feliway spray on the affected areas and, if necessary, supplement with the Feliway diffuser

Hospitalised cats – Feliway spray can be applied directly into the cage; the Feliway diffuser is more suitable, but its function may be disrupted by the room's ventilation system

Many cats in the household – the Feliway diffuser reduces stress in all cats and can be used in combination with Feliway spray, which is applied to specific places such as the cat flap

A new home, a new household member, a new owner – the Feliway diffuser is most suitable

Transport – use Feliway travel spray

Feliway has no effect on humans or on other animal species.
