How to use the lead:

1. For free movement: Always hold the flexi lead by the handle. The tape extends and retracts easily until you activate the brake button,
2. Stopping: Press the brake button with your thumb. When the dog comes back to you, release the button so the lead stays taut at all times.
3. Locking the brake: Press the brake button, then use your thumb to slide the brake lock forward.
4. Releasing the brake lock: Press the brake button and pull the lock back with your thumb.

Testing the limits

Extreme temperatures
Snow, heat, damp, mud and dirt all take their toll on the material. That's why flexi® retractable leads are tested in extreme weather conditions. One result is that flexi® leads still work perfectly even when frozen and dropped to the ground from a height of several metres. That's quality made in Germany.

Extreme load
flexi® retractable leads have to withstand a great deal, as they're used daily in all weather. Above all, the lead has to ensure that you and your dog stay safely connected. flexi® leads are subjected to extreme loads to guarantee a long, trouble-free lifespan, even for the most energetic dog.

Braking system
We test not only the springs but also the braking system for durability. It's no wonder that flexi® leads often last longer than we might wish, and get passed down from generation to generation...

Material fatigue
Deep inside every flexi® retractable lead is an extremely durable spring, designed to stand the test of time. Every spring mechanism undergoes rigorous testing and must withstand many, many cycles.
