HEATING CABLE INSTALLATION:
Remove the product from the packaging and check that the cable or electrical plug is not damaged. If you find any damage, return the product to the place of purchase. This product may only be used outside terrariums.
NOTE: DO NOT allow the cable to cross over itself, as this could cause the product to overheat. Always maintain a minimum safe distance of 3 cm between the loops or cable bundles. This will prevent the product from overheating and a possible fire! Use a thermometer to monitor the temperature inside the terrarium. Make sure the temperature is within the appropriate range for the species you keep. A digital infrared thermometer is a good tool for measuring temperatures in various places in the terrarium. We recommend using a heating cable with a suitable thermostat. The heating cable can be used on the bottom outer part of the terrarium or on the outer back or side wall of glass terrariums. Attach the heating cable to the terrarium using small pieces of electrical tape (see illustration), while maintaining the minimum safe distance between the loops of the heat cable (at least 3 cm).
NOTE: If the cable bundles are closer than 3 cm, overheating may occur! Avoid sharp bends with a radius smaller than 1.3 cm.
The electrical connection must always be outside the terrarium. Plug the cable into an electrical socket. Check the electrical tape regularly to make sure the cable is still securely stuck to the terrarium glass. Check at every cleaning or at least once a month and apply new tape as needed.
DO NOT allow the terrarium to rest directly on the heating stone. Ideal for use with REPTI PLANET terrariums (all terrariums have feet on the edges that ensure sufficient space between the cable and the table top).
This allows excess heat to escape and prevents damage to the heating cable, the terrarium, the animals, the furniture, etc.
