Unlike KOI carp, sturgeon are adapted to take food all year round. However, if we keep sturgeon together with KOI carp and other fish that do not take food in winter, we stop feeding them along with the others. Food for sturgeon is sinking and contains more fat.
Food for sturgeon also comes in two sizes, namely STURGEON junior up to 40 cm and STURGEON senior over 40 cm. When kept together with other fish, we first feed the other fish with floating food and after about a quarter of an hour we feed the sturgeon. The feeding intensity according to the water temperature is similar to that of KOI.
As for the feeding intensity depending on temperature, it is the same as with KOI; we stop feeding sturgeon when the temperature exceeds 25°C (there is a risk of decomposition of unconsumed food and an oxygen deficit at the bottom)
