This is an oil from the fruit of milk thistle (Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn.), cold-pressed. This product is used as a sensory (flavouring) additive in animal feeding.
Compared with rapeseed oil, which has almost no essential fatty acids, milk thistle oil contains around 60% linoleic acid. This acid is the main representative of essential fatty acids and is at the same time one of the best sources of fatty acids for the body.
Another benefit of milk thistle oil is its high content of natural vitamin E (in the form of alpha-tocopherol), which contributes to protecting the cells from oxidative stress.
