The design allows horizontal use of bulbs, which is the ideal option for UVB bulbs, which offer higher UVB radiation output with this installation. This system is unsuitable for heat bulbs, as these are in the vast majority reflector-type bulbs, so the bulb would only heat the inner part of the light and would have almost no efficiency in the downward direction.
