Wolves hunt their prey from the Rocky Mountains of North America, the Arctic tundra, the mountains and forests of Europe, all the way to the deserts and steppes of Central Asia. The individual ingredients of the POLAR NIGHT ADULT food were put together together with veterinarians to match the natural predatory behaviour of the wolf and the findings on holistic dog nutrition. Wolfsblut dry food is therefore unique.

• Sweet potatoes : According to the American health authority CSPI, they are one of the richest vegetables thanks to their valuable fibre and high content of beta-carotene and vitamin E.
• Pumpkin : It is one of the lowest-calorie vegetables and is rich in vitamin C, beta-carotene, minerals and phytosterols. The fibre it contains is highly digestible and aids digestion.
• Jerusalem artichoke : Contains a high proportion of inulin, which acts as a prebiotic and stimulates the growth of healthy bacterial strains in the gut. Healthy gut flora has a positive effect on the immune system.
• Blackberries : These berries contain a particularly high amount of magnesium and iron. Blackberries also outperform their local relatives in provitamin A and vitamin E content.
• Elderberries : Besides anthocyanins, these blue-black berries contain plenty of vitamin C and folic acid. The pigment sambucyanin they contain is also said to have an anti-inflammatory effect.
• Chokeberries : Chokeberry contains large amounts of plant compounds said to have particular health benefits, such as flavonoids and phenolic acid.
• Flaxseed : The fibre and mucilage in the small seeds have a positive effect on digestion and have a high content of polyunsaturated Omega 3 fatty acids.
• Dandelion : Provides an abundance of minerals such as magnesium, folic acid, manganese and vitamin K. This vitamin plays an important role in blood clotting.
• Fennel : It is rich in essential oils that are beneficial for digestion and the gut. It also contains vital substances such as potassium, vitamin A, folic acid, vitamin C and silicon dioxide.

Dosage:

The stated amount is for guidance only. The amount of food needs to be adjusted according to the dog’s age, breed, stress and climatic conditions. 

Pregnant bitches have increased nutritional requirements. During the first 6 weeks of pregnancy, the amount of food should be increased by 25%. In weeks 7-9, the additional requirement increases further, up to 75 %. Ideally, this amount should be split into 2-3 meals. Your dog should always have fresh water available.
