Yoggies Brand
Yoggies is a Czech family-run brand of natural food for dogs and cats, which we sell and recommend at zvireci-potreby.cz to owners looking for food with a genuinely clean formula, live probiotics and nutrition as close to a natural diet as possible. The brand's philosophy rests on a single conviction — Health begins in the bowl®. Yoggies was one of the first Czech brands to introduce cold-pressed kibble, makes the world's first yoghurt for dogs, and remains a pioneer of healthy pet nutrition both in the Czech Republic and abroad.

The story and origins of the Yoggies brand
Yoggies was born out of necessity — and out of love for one dog. Jiří Švihálek, the brand's founder, watched his dog Roxy's health collapse after he ate something toxic on a walk in the woods. The poison completely damaged Roxy's stomach and intestines, and left his digestion and immunity in long-term disarray. Vets gave him little chance of recovery. Švihálek tried everything — various kibbles, B.A.R.F., home cooking — but nothing agreed with Roxy. After studying canine nutrition, carnivore DNA and how the digestive tract works in depth, he developed his own lactose-free dog yoghurt with live probiotic cultures — and Roxy began to recover. The yoghurt's success gave Švihálek a clear signal: the market was missing food free from chemicals, free from meat-and-bone meal, and free from the need to choose between industrial kibble and demanding B.A.R.F. feeding. That's how Yoggies' cold-pressed kibble came about — food that is philosophically very close to B.A.R.F., yet far simpler for everyday use. Today Yoggies makes its food in the Czech Republic and Germany, runs its own research and development in partnership with VŠCHT (the Prague Institute of Chemical Technology), vets and nutrition specialists, and holds a registered trademark with patented recipes. The company grows by double-digit percentages every year, and its products are praised by breeders and experts alike as some of the cleanest food on the Czech market.
Why is Yoggies food different from the rest?
The key difference between Yoggies and the vast majority of food on the market is how the kibble is made. Standard kibble is produced by extrusion at temperatures of 140–180°C, which destroys natural vitamins, enzymes, probiotics and meaty flavour. Yoggies kibble is cold-pressed at a maximum of 38–80°C — so it keeps its natural enzymes, vitamins, meaty aroma and flavour, along with live probiotics that survive all the way to your pet's gut, where they genuinely do some good. What's more, the kibble doesn't swell in the stomach — unlike extruded kibble, which expands significantly in volume once it absorbs liquid, something that can be a real problem for large breeds prone to gastric torsion (bloat). The formula is 100% free from chemicals, cereals, soya, gluten, artificial preservatives, flavourings and colourings. The ingredients come exclusively from certified European farms — mainly in the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium — at a quality comparable to food fit for human consumption. Yoggies is also the only brand on the market offering the world's first dog yoghurt with live probiotic cultures, protected by a patented recipe.
Who is Yoggies food suitable for?
Yoggies for dogs with sensitive digestion and allergies — a grain-free formula free from soya, wheat and chemical additives, combined with live probiotics and prebiotics, naturally soothes a sensitive digestive tract. For dogs with food allergies, single-protein recipes are available with goat, lamb, Iberian pork, fish or insect protein.
Yoggies for dogs prone to gastric torsion — cold-pressed kibble doesn't swell in the stomach, unlike extruded kibble. This is a key advantage especially for large and giant breeds, for whom gastric torsion (bloat) is a serious health risk.
Yoggies for dogs combining kibble with B.A.R.F. — the Yoggies philosophy naturally sits close to a raw diet. The kibble can easily be combined with raw meat, wet food or B.A.R.F. accompaniments, which Yoggies also offers.
Yoggies for active and sporting dogs — the Active & Sport range, with a high meat content and energy-rich formula, is designed for dogs under greater physical strain, working dogs and sporting breeds.
Yoggies for puppies — Puppy recipes with a balanced intake of calcium, phosphorus and live probiotics support proper bone development, a healthy immune system and good digestion from the first weeks of life.
Yoggies for cats — Yoggies also offers a complete range for cats — cold-pressed kibble, wet food, pâté, yoghurts and treats, all free from chemicals, cereals and artificial additives, with added live probiotics.
What does the Yoggies range include?
Yoggies offers one of the widest ranges of natural food and supplements on the Czech market. The cold-pressed kibble comes in a whole host of flavours — chicken, beef, turkey, duck, lamb, goat, Iberian pork, fish and insect — in variants for puppies, adult dogs, seniors, active dogs, small breeds and allergy sufferers. Alongside the kibble, Yoggies offers cooked food, ragouts and sauces, wet food, pâté, B.A.R.F. raw meat and B.A.R.F. accompaniments, yoghurts for dogs and cats with live probiotic cultures, dried and freeze-dried treats, and nutritional supplements including tick protection and joint support. You'll find the full Yoggies range clearly laid out in the categories below.
Frequently asked questions — Yoggies
What is cold-pressed kibble, and why is it better?
Cold-pressed kibble is made at low temperatures — with Yoggies, no more than 38–80°C — compared with standard extruded kibble, which is processed at 140–180°C. Thanks to the low temperature, it retains natural enzymes, vitamins, meaty flavour and live probiotics that survive the journey to the gut, where they genuinely support your pet's health. The result is food that's more nutritious, tastier and easier to digest.
Is Yoggies kibble suitable for dogs with allergies?
Yes. Yoggies offers single-protein recipes with goat, lamb, Iberian pork, fish or insect protein, completely free from cereals, soya, wheat and chemical additives. These variants are ideal for dogs with food allergies or on an elimination diet. The live probiotics also naturally support gut health and a healthy immune response.
What is Yoggies yoghurt, and how does it differ from yoghurt for humans?
Yoggies yoghurt is the world's first yoghurt for dogs, developed by Jiří Švihálek for his dog Roxy. Unlike yoghurt made for humans, it contains no lactose, which dogs can't digest, and is enriched with special probiotic strains able to survive the journey to the gut, where they support immunity, healthy digestion and the gut microbiome. The yoghurt is also available for cats.
Can I combine Yoggies kibble with B.A.R.F.?
Yes, and Yoggies actively recommends this combination. The philosophy behind the kibble sits naturally close to a raw diet — it can be freely combined with raw meat, B.A.R.F. accompaniments or wet food. Yoggies also offers its own B.A.R.F. range for owners who want to feed raw meat supplemented with natural accompaniments.
Where is Yoggies food made?
Yoggies food is made in the Czech Republic and Germany from ingredients sourced from certified European farms in the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. Production follows strict technological and hygiene standards, and the company invests hundreds of thousands of crowns a year in its own research and development in partnership with VŠCHT and veterinary experts.
