Abilar VET contains 10% Norway spruce (Picea abies) resin, collected in Finnish Lapland and cold-purified. The positive effect of resin on healing and its contribution to reducing microbial load have been described in several studies published in reputable scientific journals.

The substances it contains soothe itching and irritation caused by skin lesions and help wounds heal faster.

Abilar VET leaves a protective film on the skin that does not easily dissolve, even in damp conditions (paws, claws). The resin's bitter taste reduces the animal's tendency to lick the wound.

Instructions for use:

Treatment of the affected area should be carried out every 1-3 days, or as needed. The affected area should be cleaned and dried, Abilar VET ointment applied, and if necessary a new dry dressing placed over it.

1) dry, rough and irritated skin: apply a thin layer of ointment to the skin

2) surface wounds: apply a thin layer of ointment and leave the affected area without a dressing if possible. If necessary, a breathable dressing can be applied to prevent staining.

Due to the cleansing properties of the resin, the wound may initially appear to get bigger, which is a normal effect that does not slow down healing.

Try to prevent the animal from licking the affected area, as its saliva slows healing. Use a protective collar if necessary.

Use of Abilar VET ointment should be continued until the skin lesion or wound has healed. The time needed to treat the affected areas can range from a few days to several weeks, depending, for example, on the depth of the wound. In the case of more serious lesions, professional treatment by a veterinary surgeon is recommended.

If there is no improvement in condition, or if the condition worsens, contact your veterinary surgeon. The product is not a substitute for veterinary care and medicines recommended by a veterinary surgeon.

Contraindications and adverse effects

Do not use on animals hypersensitive to resin or to any of the other ingredients.
If you are hypersensitive to resin or to any of the other ingredients in the ointment, wear protective gloves when applying the product to the animal.
Withdrawal period
Do not use on horses whose meat is intended for human consumption.

Storage

Keep out of sight and reach of children. For animal use only. For external use only.
Store tightly closed in a place protected from direct sunlight at a temperature of 15-30°C. Protect the product from frost. Use within 12 months of first opening.
