DECO SOIL 5 l, 1-4 mm

The ideal natural substrate for aquariums – supports plant growth, biological filtration and a natural-looking bottom
DECO SOIL is a high-quality aquarium substrate with a fine grain size of 1–4 mm, made for all freshwater aquariums. Thanks to its porous structure, it is the perfect environment for nitrifying bacteria, which help maintain biological balance and water cleanliness.

The substrate supports the healthy growth of aquarium plants, ensures firm anchoring of their root system and helps absorb nutrients from the water, which supports the vitality and growth of vegetation in the aquarium. The brown colouring of the substrate creates a natural-looking bottom, ideal for both natural and decorative aquariums.

Instructions for use of DECO SOIL

• Before use, we recommend rinsing the substrate in hot water.
• To ensure it sinks properly:
• Pour boiling water over any floating grains.
• Then place the substrate in ice-cold water for 24 hours – the pores will absorb the water and the substrate will sink.
• Even so, around 5–10 % of the grains may naturally remain on the surface.

Calculating the required amount of substrate

Use this simple formula: (length x depth x height of the aquarium in cm) / 1,000 = the required amount in litres.
