Why is this food for neutered cats?

The Sterilized food is intended for neutered cats, cats with low activity, or those that need to reduce their body weight. Compared to adult foods, the Sterilized food has less fat and additionally contains L-carnitine and DL-methionine.

L-carnitine is a non-essential amino acid that has a key function in metabolism and supports the physiological conversion of fats in cells into energy.

DL-methionine is an essential amino acid (part of proteins) that, thanks to its sulphur content, has diuretic effects. Methionine is therefore used as a treatment and prevention of the formation of urinary stones. These often occur precisely in older and overweight cats. That is why a small amount of methionine is added to foods for neutered cats or to their „light" versions.

What does a cat's natural diet look like?

Let's illustrate this with the example of a mouse as typical cat prey, which your darlings would eat if they didn't have their caring keepers – you. A mouse consists of approximately 60 % meat, 35 % animal by-products (heart, lungs, bones, etc.) and 5 % carbohydrates, with a moisture content of about 70 %.

Lucky Lou food is of course not made from mice, but its composition resembles this natural pattern as closely as possible and is even tastier and healthier!

This food range is specially adapted to the various stages of a cat's life and their individual needs. Because a kitten needs a different amount of nutrients than an adult cat, and likewise cats in their prime have different food requirements than senior cats.

Asparagus contains plenty of fibre and at the same time minimal calories. It supports proper digestion and bowel movements and contributes to maintaining a healthy weight.

Chicory contains vitamins and minerals that contribute to the overall health and vitality of cats. In addition, it helps prevent constipation.

Recommended dosage: The feeding amount always depends on the cat's activity, age, size, breed and health. We recommend feeding in smaller portions, as needed, 3–5% of the cat's body weight per day.
