Sharpening their claws is very important for cats. To prevent the cat from scratching the carpet or furniture, it is essential to provide it with some other suitable object and material for scratching.
Sisal is a natural, very robust fibre that helps cats shed the scaly outer layer of their claws, thereby preventing the claws from becoming ingrown. The mat can be fixed to the wall or placed on the floor. A toy on a spring is attached to the mat.
