Cereals with a low glycaemic index, together with the gelling ability of psyllium, reduce postprandial hyperglycaemia.

The high protein content helps reduce the net energy supply and also ensures a prolonged and progressive supply of glucose (gluconeogenesis).

A low carbohydrate intake helps control blood glucose levels after a meal in order to facilitate the overall treatment of diabetes mellitus.

A reduced energy intake contributes to an optimal body condition and minimises the insulin resistance associated with being overweight.

This food has a low level of rapidly soluble carbohydrates.
