Cold-pressed hemp oil is made from the seeds of selected varieties of hemp. It is characterised by a high content of Omega-3 α-linolenic and oleic acids as well as Omega-6 linoleic acid, in an optimal ratio of 3:1, and antioxidants. It is rich in tocopherols and linoleic and linolenic acids.

The richest sources of the omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid are flaxseeds, flaxseed oil, chia seeds, hemp seeds, walnuts and rapeseed oil. Their healthy fats contain not only high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids but are also in a positive ratio to omega-6 fatty acids. Hemp oil is thus one of the most valuable oils of plant origin. Its high content and unique combination of omega-3 and omega-6 unsaturated fatty acids, essential for the organism, and health-beneficial plant sterols make it exceptional among other oils. It also contains a high amount of natural vitamin E.

Hemp oil is generally known for having a beneficial effect on the organism when used long-term. Virgin hemp oil has a pleasant nutty taste.

How is the oil made?

Hemp oil is obtained from the seeds of the hemp plant. The seeds are cold-pressed, in a similar way to how olive oil is produced. Once the oil has been extracted from the seed, it is stored in a cool, dark place for processing and transport.
