WOLFSBLUT VetLine HYPOALLERGENIC is a complete dietetic food for adult dogs to reduce symptoms of ingredient and nutrient intolerance associated with chronic itching, inflammation of the outer ear and gastrointestinal disorders such as IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) or colitis.

Is your dog troubled by unpleasant itching all over its body, or mainly in its ears? Does it lick and gnaw at its paws? Or is it suffering from impaired digestion and diarrhoea? The cause could be a food allergy or food intolerance. An allergy occurs when the immune system overreacts to certain proteins. In the case of intolerance, however, the immune system is not involved. Because the symptoms in both cases are very similar, a visit to the vet is essential. Once diagnosed, an elimination diet can be a useful tool for identifying the specific triggers of your dog's abnormal physical reactions and for avoiding them in the long term.

1. By using a single, high-quality source of protein: Horse meat is considered hypoallergenic and has a very low allergenic potential. This reduces symptoms of ingredient and nutrient intolerance. Put another way: the shorter the ingredient list, the lower the risk of an adverse reaction.
2. Limiting carbohydrate sources to sweet potatoes and pumpkin also reduces the allergenic potential.
3. The food is ideal as an elimination diet: this keeps food ingredients to a minimum, so initially you can observe over a few weeks whether your dog's symptoms subside. If they do, you can gradually add ingredients back into the food and pinpoint exactly which ones your dog reacts to.
4. By avoiding cereals, even nutritionally sensitive dogs can receive a species-appropriate diet.
5. This special food has a high proportion of essential fatty acids, which can dampen inflammatory reactions and thereby ease the symptoms of allergy or intolerance.

Feeding

To reduce nutrient intolerance, it can be fed for 3–8 weeks, and once intolerance symptoms have subsided, it can be fed for an unlimited period. Please note that this complete dietetic food can only support veterinary treatment, not replace it. It is recommended to consult a vet before use and before extending the feeding period. The amounts given should be regarded only as a guide, and the amount of food should be adjusted to your dog's individual needs. Every dog is unique, and the optimal amount of food depends on many factors, such as age, sex, activity level, metabolism and environment.
