Glucosamine plays a significant role in cartilage metabolism. It stimulates cartilage cells (chondrocytes) to synthesise proteoglycans (the basic building blocks of cartilage) and is the main substrate for their formation. Glucosamine is actively taken up by cartilage. The administration of glucosamine slows the progression of degenerative changes in the cartilage that have already occurred.

Chondroitin sulphate – NOURISHES
Chondroitin sulphate is an important part of joint cartilage. It binds a large amount of water, thereby hydrating the cartilage, supports the formation of proteoglycans and reduces collagenolytic activity. The administration of chondroitin leads to a slowing of destructive changes in the cartilage, eases joint pain, improves mobility and also eases the course of joint inflammation.

Hydrolysed collagen Gelita, Fortigel® – RESTORES
Specially enzymatically cleaved collagen fragments, of neutral taste and smell. Collagen makes up approximately 70 % of the mass of the cartilage. Collagen is the main protein of the elastic joint cartilage, ensuring its firmness, elasticity and resilience. A lack of collagen leads to mobility disorders and gradual degenerative changes.

Hyaluronic acid – RESTORES
Hyaluronic acid is found in all connective tissues including the joints, where it forms the main component of the synovial fluid. Its administration normalises the properties of the joint synovial fluid, works against cartilage degeneration and restores its original properties. As the inter-joint fluid, it performs the role of joint lubrication.

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) – HAS ANTI-INFLAMMATORY AND PAIN-RELIEVING EFFECTS
