Frontline Combo Spot-On for Dogs L (20-40kg) 3x2.68ml

Characteristics: Solution for external application to the skin.

Indications
In dogs and puppies over 8 weeks of age: For use against flea infestation, either fleas alone or fleas together with ticks and/or lice.
– Elimination of fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.) The insecticidal effect against infestation by adult fleas lasts for up to 8 weeks. Prevention of flea multiplication by suppressing the development of eggs (ovicidal effect), larvae and their developmental stages (larvicidal effect) developed from eggs laid by adult fleas for up to 8 weeks after application.
– Elimination of ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor variabilis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus). The product has a persistent acaricidal effect against ticks for up to 4 weeks (supported by the results of experimental studies)
– Elimination of lice (Trichodectes canis). The product can be used as part of a treatment strategy in the control of flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).

Contraindications
Due to the absence of adequate data on the use of the product in the youngest age categories, do not apply to puppies younger than 8 weeks and/or weighing less than 2 kg.
Do not use in rabbits, where adverse reactions may occur, sometimes leading to death.
Do not apply to sick animals (e.g. systemic diseases, fever…) or to animals that are convalescing. The product is intended for dogs.
Do not use in cats, as an overdose could occur.

Adverse reactions
Among the rarely occurring possible adverse reactions reported after use were transient skin reactions at the application site (discolouration of the skin, local hair loss, itching, redness) and general itching or hair loss. Excessive salivation, reversible neurological signs (increased sensitivity to stimulation, depression, other neurological signs), vomiting or respiratory signs were also observed after use. If licking occurs, a short period of excessive salivation may appear as a reaction caused mainly by the properties of the carrier.

Dosage and method of administration
Route of administration: external application to the skin.
Dosage: one pipette containing 2.68 (L) ml for a large dog weighing from 20 to 40 kg.

This provides the minimum recommended dose of 6.7mg/kg fipronil and 6mg/kg (S)-methoprene.
Due to the absence of studies concerning the safety of the product, the minimum interval between applications is 4 weeks.
Method of administration: Hold the pipette upright and snap off the tip. Tap the narrow part of the pipette and make sure the contents remain in the main part of the pipette. Part the animal's coat at the base of the neck in front of the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette against the skin and squeeze several times so that the contents empty directly onto the skin in one spot.

Warning
It is important to ensure the product is applied to a spot from which the animal cannot lick it off, and to prevent animals from licking each other after application. Bathing/soaking in water within 2 days after application of the product and bathing more often than once a week is not recommended, since no study has been carried out to determine how bathing affects the efficacy of this product.
Emollient shampoos may be used before treatment, but they shorten the duration of efficacy against fleas to approximately 5 weeks if used once a week after application of the product. Weekly bathing using a medicated shampoo containing 2% chlorhexidine did not affect efficacy against fleas during a study lasting 6 weeks.
Individual ticks may attach. Therefore, the transmission of infectious diseases cannot be completely ruled out if conditions are unfavourable.
In pets, fleas often infest animal carriers, the places where the animal sleeps and rests, such as carpets and household furnishings, which in the case of massive infestation and at the start of protective measures need to be regularly treated with suitable insecticides and cleaned using a vacuum cleaner. Avoid contact of the product with the animal's eyes. Dogs should not be allowed to swim in watercourses for two days after application.
FRONTLINE Combo Spot On Dog can be used during pregnancy and lactation.

Caution
Beware of overdosing. This product may cause irritation of the mucous membranes, skin and eyes. Therefore avoid contact of this product with the mouth, skin and eyes.
Animals or persons known to be hypersensitive to insecticides or alcohol should not come into contact with Frontline Combo Spot On Dog.
Take care to avoid contact of the fingers with the contents. If this occurs, wash your hands with soap and water. In the event of accidental eye contact, carefully rinse the eye with clean water. Wash your hands after use.
Do not handle treated animals and prevent children from playing with them until the applied product has dried. It is therefore recommended not to treat animals during the day but early in the evening, and not to allow freshly treated animals to sleep with their owners, especially children.
Do not smoke, drink or eat during application of the product.

Withdrawal periods: Not intended for food-producing animals.

Storage: Keep out of reach of children. Store at a temperature up to 30°C. Store in the original packaging.
