The veterinary product Fypryst Combo spot-on Dogs is intended for the treatment and prevention of flea, tick and lice infestation. The product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for the management of flea allergy dermatitis (FAD), where this has previously been diagnosed by a veterinarian.
Treatment of flea infestation - The insecticidal effect against new infestation with adult fleas (Ctenocephalides spp) lasts for 8 weeks in both cats and ferrets. Prevention of flea reproduction, by suppressing the development of eggs (ovicidal effect), larvae and their developmental stages (larvicidal effect) hatched from eggs laid by adult fleas, persists for 8 weeks after application.
Treatment of tick infestation - The product has a persistent acaricidal effect against ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor variabilis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) for up to 4 weeks.
How to use it?
Part the animal's coat at the lower part of the neck and in front of the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the single-dose pipette against the skin and squeeze the pipette several times so that its entire contents are emptied onto the skin at a single spot. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling the product. Prevent the animal from licking the product off. Allow an interval of at least 4 weeks between individual applications. Bathing (wetting) the animal within two days of applying the product, and bathing more often than once a week, is not recommended.
Do not apply the product to puppies younger than 8 weeks of age and/or weighing less than 2 kg. Do not apply the product to sick animals (e.g. fever, systemic disease) or animals recovering from illness.
The product may be used during pregnancy and lactation.
You may also be interested to know that Fypryst Combo spot-on Dogs is intended exclusively for dogs. Do not use the product in cats and ferrets, as this could lead to overdosing. Do not use in rabbits due to the risk of adverse effects or even the death of the animal.
What does it contain?
One pipette (0.67 ml) contains 67 mg fipronil, 60.3 mg S-methoprene, and the following excipients: butylhydroxyanisole (E320) 0.134 mg, butylhydroxytoluene (E321) 0.067 mg.
