Scalibor antiparasitic collar for dogs 65 cm - a highly effective antiparasitic collar for dogs. It protects your pet against midges, ticks and other kinds of ectoparasites, prevents them from biting and attaching, and thereby prevents infection with transmissible diseases.
After the collar is put on, the active substance spreads evenly over the dog's skin. It penetrates from the collar into the lipid layer of the dog's skin and spreads over the whole body. Full efficacy of the Scalibor® Protectorband collar is ensured as early as the beginning of the second week of wear. The protection that Scalibor® Protectorband provides lasts up to 6 months.
After brief contact with the active substance, parasites show coordination disorders followed by rapid death.
Do not use on cats, and preferably not even on dogs that live indoors with cats! The active substance of Scalibor is very dangerous for cats.
The collar does not stain the coat, does not smell and is completely water-resistant. It is suitable for puppies from 7 weeks of age and for pregnant or nursing bitches.
Can the collar be put on at the end of its expiry date?
Definitely yes. The expiry date indicates the day up to which the collar can be purchased and put on the dog. Its efficacy is ensured up to the expiry date + the duration of efficacy against parasites. For example, if you buy a Scalibor with an expiry date of June 2014, the collar will work until December 2014 if you put it on in June.
The Scalibor antiparasitic collar is very soft, easy to shape and adapts to the shape and size of the neck. Do not throw away the cut-off piece of the collar; place it in the dog's bed or kennel.
The Scalibor collar protects the dog against parasite infestation and at the same time kills ticks that have already attached. The special technology for releasing the active substance ensures a gradual release of deltamethrin every day and, because it is released directly onto the dog and not into the surroundings, the collar does not smell. Safe even when a child is near the dog. The active substance is not released into the environment.
Research has shown that the daily amount of deltamethrin taken in orally when stroking the dog and the associated licking of hands and fingers is, even at a 100% dose, far below the acceptable daily maximum.
Scalibor does not lose its efficacy even after contact with water, so dogs may bathe. However, for the first five days after putting on the Scalibor® Protectorband collar you should not bathe the dog, so that the active substance can spread evenly and quickly over its skin.
Consistent and effective release of the active substance is ensured only by a correctly fitted collar. The aim is to maintain the largest possible contact area between the collar and the surface of the dog's neck throughout wear. You achieve this by fastening the collar so that two fingers fit between the collar and the neck. Cut off the rest about 5 cm from the buckle. In growing dogs, the length of the collar then adjusts to the growing neck circumference without any problems.
