Colostrum

Compared with mature milk, colostrum contains a particularly high amount of bioactive substances that act on the living organism, tissue or cell, to give newborns the best possible start in life and to strengthen their immune system. It contains antibodies that help protect against illnesses and infections. It also contains immune and growth factors and other bioactive substances that help kick-start the newborn's immune system and bowel function, allowing a healthy gut microbiome to become established in the first days of life. The bioactive substances contained in colostrum are essential for the newborn's health, growth and vitality. It is packed with white blood cells that protect it from infection.

Skimmed Colostrum

Skimmed Colostrum contains at least 30% IgG. Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is the most significant class of antibodies. It makes up the majority of all antibodies in serum. IgG has 4 subclasses (IgG1–4), which differ from one another in their opsonising properties, complement binding and the length of time they remain active. IgG performs several functions. Opsonisation: neutrophils and macrophages carry FcR receptors for the Fc fragments of IgG, which enables phagocytosis and the elimination of pathogens. Activation of complement via the classical pathway: once IgG binds to an antigen, complement is activated, which is important for defence against infections. Secondary immune response: after repeated exposure to an antigen, IgG is involved in a fast and strong immune response. Neutralisation of toxins: when IgG binds to a toxin, it blocks and neutralises it by forming an immune complex.

Beta-glucans

The beta-glucans in this product are bioactive and patented under the Yestimun brand, containing a minimum of 80% natural beta-glucan polysaccharides from Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast.

Beta-glucans are complex, high-molecular-weight polysaccharides found in the cell wall of many yeasts, bacteria, fungi, algae and cereals. Yeast beta-glucans are natural substances that influence the organism's immune functions – they are so-called immunomodulators. Related to this is also their anti-tumour activity, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effect, support for wound healing and increased resistance to infections.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a highly significant antioxidant, meaning it protects cells from oxidative stress. It helps the immune system function and supports energy metabolism.

Selenium

Selenium plays an important role in immunity, and through its antioxidant effect protects the body's cells, thereby reducing the risk of cancer. It has a positive effect on the immune and cardiovascular systems and reduces the risk of myocardial infarction and vascular disease.

Zinc

Zinc is important for a number of enzymes needed for cell metabolism and is involved in regulating the rate of cell division, cell activity and cell maturation.

Dosage:

Method of use: Capsules are given daily according to the recommended dosage into the animal's mouth, ideally on an empty stomach at least 20 minutes before feeding, or alternatively with a small piece of food; the capsule can also be opened and its contents poured directly into the animal's mouth.
