Frontline Tri-Act for dogs Spot-on XS for small dogs (2 - 5 kg) is intended for the treatment and prevention of infestation by fleas or ticks and has a repellent (anti-feeding) effect against sandflies, blood-sucking flies or mosquitoes. It kills fleas within 24 hours. A single treatment prevents further infestation for 4 weeks. However, individual ticks may attach, but they will fall off within the first 24 hours after infestation. The product does not smell, does not stain and does not make the coat greasy. The product is also suitable for puppies older than 8 weeks weighing at least 2kg. Do not apply the product to cats!
Indications:
For the treatment and prevention of infestation by fleas or ticks, where a repellent (anti-feeding) effect against sandflies, blood-sucking flies or mosquitoes is necessary.
For the treatment and prevention of infestation by fleas of the species Ctenocephalides felis and for the prevention of infestation by fleas of the species Ctenocephalides canis. The product kills C. felis fleas within 24 hours. A single treatment prevents further infestation for 4 weeks. The product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for flea-bite allergy that has been previously diagnosed by a veterinary surgeon.
The product has a repellent effect against ticks (Dermacentor reticulatus) from 7 days up to 4 weeks after treatment. However, individual ticks may attach, which will fall off within the first 24 hours after infestation. The product has an immediate acaricidal effect against Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus, but if ticks are already present at the time of application, not all ticks may be killed within 48 hours after treatment. The product has an acaricidal effect against ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) that persists for 4 weeks. The product has a repellent (anti-feeding) effect for 3 weeks against sandflies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) and 4 weeks against mosquitoes (Culex pipiens). The product has an insecticidal effect that persists for 3 weeks against sandflies (Phlebotomus perniciosus). The product repels and kills stable flies (Stomoxys calcitrans) for 5 weeks.

Method of administration:
Hold the pipette upright and snap off the tip. Tap the narrow part of the pipette and make sure the contents remain in the main part of the pipette. Part the animal's coat at the base of the neck in front of the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze several times so that the contents empty directly onto the skin in one spot.
Warning:
It is important to ensure the product is applied to a place from which the animal cannot lick it off, and to prevent animals from licking one another after application.
Bathing/soaking in water within 2 days of applying the product, and bathing more often than once a week, is not recommended, since no study has been carried out to determine how bathing affects the efficacy of this product.
Emollient shampoos may be used before treatment, but they shorten the duration of efficacy against fleas to approximately 5 weeks if used once a week after applying the product. Weekly bathing using a medicated shampoo containing 2% chlorhexidine did not affect efficacy against fleas during a study lasting 6 weeks.
Caution:
This product may cause irritation of the mucous membranes, skin and eyes. Therefore avoid contact of this product with the mouth, skin and eyes. Animals or people known to be hypersensitive to insecticides or alcohol should not come into contact with Frontline.
Take care to avoid contact of your fingers with the contents. If this occurs, wash your hands with soap and water. In case of accidental eye contact, carefully rinse the eye with clean water. Wash your hands after use.
Do not handle treated animals and prevent children from playing with them until the applied product has dried. It is therefore recommended not to treat animals during the day but early in the evening, and not to allow freshly treated animals to sleep with their owners, especially children. Do not smoke, drink or eat while applying the product.
Repellent efficacy against vectors of leishmaniasis and dirofilariasis and against blood-sucking flies/stable flies: sandflies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) : > 90% for 3 weeks and > 80% for 5 weeks, mosquitoes (Culex pipiens): 90.4% for 4 weeks, stable flies (Stomoxys calcitrans) : > 88.6% for 5 weeks, Persistent insecticidal efficacy against: sandflies for 3 weeks (P. perniciosus), stable flies for 5 weeks.
