Stomax is a prebiotic with a high capacity to absorb water, which is of great importance in diarrhoeal conditions. It restores the balance of the intestinal microflora disrupted by digestive problems or after antibiotic treatment and supports efficient digestion. It helps restore balance and a healthy bacterial flora in the gut.

Potato cell wall fibre PV70
Potato cell wall fibre PV70 is one of the main ingredients of Stomax™. It consists of fibres from potato cell walls. This fibre has a high capacity to retain water (important during diarrhoea) and has a high cellulose content, which has a beneficial effect on carbohydrate and fat metabolism. The fibre is also important for supporting the intestinal microflora, increases the volume of the intestinal contents and helps it move more gently and easily through the gut, diluting bile and toxins that could damage the large intestine.

Inactivated yeast
Inactivated yeast serves as a nutrient for beneficial micro-organisms in the large intestine. It is classified as a prebiotic, meaning that it feeds beneficial bacteria while also stimulating gut function and improving intestinal peristalsis (the muscular activity that moves food correctly through the intestines).

Inulin / oligofructose
Inulin / oligofructose is a source of energy for symbiotic gut bacteria and behaves as a soluble fibre in the intestine. Its importance lies in its probiotic effect and in supporting intestinal peristalsis. It also helps increase the uptake of calcium, phosphorus, iron, etc. from the daily feed intake. The source of inulin in Stomax™ is the chicory plant.

Lecithin
Lecithin is a natural fatty substance found in body cells. Together with the potato fibre, lecithin forms a gel on contact with water that effectively protects the stomach and intestinal mucosa. Lecithin is also very important for the function of digestive enzymes and the pancreas, helps blend fats and water, supports cholesterol metabolism and plays a major role in cell membranes.

B vitamins
Stomax™ is enriched with B vitamins, which are essential during digestive problems, when their absorption is impaired and they are lost from the body during heavy fluid loss, such as during diarrhoea. B vitamins counteract stress, boost blood formation and support metabolism.

Directions for use: Mix the powder with water and then with the food.

Duration of use: For optimal digestive function in sensitive animals, treatment should continue for 3 to 12 weeks. Improvement is usually visible within one week.
