The solution for a daily, active approach to health and immunity is the combined action of 2 selected, scientifically supported active ingredients: vitamin D3 – cholecalciferol, and vitamin K2 – menaquinone-7 (MK-7).

Vitamin K2 and D3 is the optimal combination for healthy bones. Vitamin K2 prevents calcium from being deposited in the blood vessels and instead helps direct it into the bones.

Vitamins D and K are fat-soluble, and both are important not only for the proper use of calcium in the body. They occur naturally in various forms in food and are also produced in the human and animal body. Vitamin D3 is present in the form of cholecalciferol and contributes to the normal absorption or utilisation of calcium and phosphorus, to normal blood calcium levels and normal bones, to maintaining normal muscle function of the musculoskeletal system, and to the condition of the teeth. It supports the function of the immune system and is also involved in the process of cell division during the body’s renewal.

Vitamin K is an essential vitamin, contributing to normal blood clotting and the maintenance of normal bones. Vitamin K exists in several types, the most common versions being vitamin K1 and vitamin K2 in two forms – as MK-4 and MK-7.

Vitamin K2 has a long history, but for a time it remained a ‘forgotten vitamin’. Thanks to scientific studies on vitamin K2 spanning almost two decades, vitamin K2 has been reborn with new strength, and its importance has been rediscovered and confirmed. These studies demonstrate the effects of K2 supplementation on bone health, as well as on ensuring proper blood flow and circulation in the human body. Vitamin K2 is commonly produced by lactic acid bacteria in the gut, and in food it is found mainly in fermented dairy products and the soy product natto.

The K2 variant – menaquinone-7 (MK-7) outperforms other forms of K2 thanks to its excellent bioavailability, longer half-life and lower dosage requirements. It influences the transport and distribution of calcium in the body, including in the bones, keeps it balanced in the body, and directs calcium into the bones rather than the arteries. In doing so, it supports the proper function of the blood vessels and the cardiovascular system.

Vitamin K2 in the ALAVIS™ MAXIMA Vitamin D3 + K2 food supplement is present in the form of bioactive menaquinone-7. Because this form is naturally produced in the human body, supplementing directly with menaquinone ensures its high absorbability and bioavailability.

The branded, biologically active form of vitamin K2, with the registered trademark K2VITAL® from Norway, ensures that all the vitamin K content is present in this most biologically absorbable and available form. Thanks to its stability, it can enter the human body more easily. Vitamin K2VITAL is standardised to a minimum of 97% MK-7 form of the total vitamin K2 content, of which at least 92% is the active all-trans MK-7 form.

Vitamin D3 contributes to normal blood calcium levels, normal bones and teeth, and the normal function of the muscles and immune system.
