Iron is indispensable to the human body in many transport and enzymatic systems, but above all in the respiratory chain for transporting oxygen between tissues. The current amount of iron in the body of an adult is between 3-4 grams. The human body loses 1-2 mg of iron daily, which must be replenished through food. Due to dietary errors, drug interactions or genetic disorders of regulatory proteins, the body's absorption of iron may be reduced. A deficiency causes fatigue, paleness, drowsiness, dark circles under the eyes, cold extremities, reduced concentration, and even a decline in work performance...

Supplementing intake with common forms of iron is often accompanied by unwanted side effects. The solution is to prevent direct contact between the iron and the mucous membranes of the stomach and intestines. Technically, this can be achieved by micronisation and microencapsulation of the iron molecules.
