Probiotics are live organisms (most often bacteria, but also yeasts) that, when given in sufficient amounts, provide the host with a demonstrable health benefit.

The official definition from the World Health Organization (WHO) highlights two criteria: the micro-organisms must be alive, and there must be a sufficient quantity of them to be effective.

The ALAVIS MAXIMA Probiotics food supplement contains a broad spectrum of probiotic strains. It is a highly diverse blend containing a total of 11 different strains. Different strains have different effects on health, so the broader the spectrum, the more comprehensive the support the supplement offers for the gut microbiome. It includes both key genera (Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium) and less common but beneficial strains.

It contains strains with scientifically proven effects:

• Lactobacillus acidophilus – one of the most commonly used probiotic strains, which helps maintain a healthy balance of gut flora.
• Bifidobacterium lactis – key for immunity and the digestion of fibre in the large intestine.
• Lactobacillus rhamnosus (Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus) – a very well-researched strain that supports immunity and has a positive effect on the digestive system.
• Streptococcus thermophilus – a bacterium used in yoghurt production, which supports gut health.

It also contains a prebiotic (inulin), an indigestible fibre that serves as the food probiotics need to survive and multiply.

The ALAVIS MAXIMA Probiotics food supplement can be taken regularly and over the long term. We recommend taking it during and after a course of antibiotics. While antibiotics kill both harmful and beneficial bacteria, the probiotics and prebiotics it contains help maintain a healthy gut environment and prevent pathogens from overgrowing. For effective restoration of the microbiome, it is advisable to continue taking it for at least 2-4 weeks after finishing the antibiotics.

Recommended daily dosage: 2 capsules a day. Take with food and with plenty of water. It can be taken regularly and over the long term. We recommend taking it during and after a course of antibiotics.
